Résumé
Les parents de Jacky sont très inquiets à son sujet, car celui ci n'arrive pas à parler alors qu'il est un jeune garçon de 5 ou 6 ans. Les plus grandes sommités médicales arrivent à la conclusion que l'enfant ne peut parler et ne le pourrajamais, sauf miracle, mais une sommité médicale ne croit pas aux miracles. Ce que personne ne sait, c'est que Jacky a une grade imagination et un très bon ami : Puff, le dragon magique. Ce gros et amical compagnon sera d'une grande aide à Jacky, mais laissons Puff nous raconter l'histoire de Jacky et nous dire comment elle termine
Commentaire
Sorti en octobre 1978 pour la télévision aux USA, ce film moyen métrage est arrivé en 1981 à la télévision en France : il faisait en effet partie de la programmation des Visiteurs de Noël du 21 décembre 1981.
L'histoire du film se base sur celle racontée dans la chanson "Puff, the magic dragon" du Peter, Paul and Mary enregistrée en 1962. La version originale du film reprend d'ailleurs la chanson dans sa bande sonore
Tout comme cela fut le cas pour la chansons des Beatles "Lucy in the sky with diamonds", certains ont vu dans la chanson "Puff, the magic dragon" une allégorie de la consommation de drogue, ce dont les auteurs se sont toujours défendus, affirmant avec raison que la chanson n'avait pas d'autre sens que celui des paroles : l'histoire d'un enfant abandonnant les aventures imaginaires de l'enfance et laissant Puff le dragon tout seul.
On notera que la mère de Jackie est doublée par une célèbre comédienne : Céline Monsarrat. Son nom vous est peut-être inconnu mais dont tout le monde connait la voix, puisqu'il elle a doublé, entre autres, Gigi, Bulma (Dragon Ball), Virginia (Arnold et Willy), la schtroumpfette ou encore Julia Roberts.
